This is a public reply on the email I received from Tamás, with his permission. It should help me share a link to this article every time I receive similar emails, but also hopefully help some of you guys know how I do it.
What I do is not rocket science, and it can be merged in three essential points. Spend enough time on each of them and you’ll do fine. Without further ado..
1. Filter your activities.
Choose the ones you enjoy doing, and that you would do for free. From those, choose the ones that make financial sense. Focus on doing those as much as much as you can.
There are so many things I don’t know, and so few that I know and I’m good at! But you know what? That’s exactly how I want it to be! This is how I use my time properly.
2. Read to learn, don’t be fucking lazy.
This is obvious, but there are many lazy people that stop reading as soon as they graduate. They basically expect to compete with people who continuously learn. That’s plain stupid.
There is so much free information on the web today. Make sure you spend at least 2 – 3 hours every day reading. Stay up to date with stuff that’s included at #1, research. This will make you smarter, more creative, and it will put you in the right place, at the right time.
3. Evolve by adapting.
Use what you learned at #2 in doing your favorite activities at #1.
Conclusion
That’s it! You should enjoy your life by doing what you love and what you’re good at. You’ll also keep improving. If this doesn’t make you happy and successful, I don’t know what will!
